EXECUTIVE SUMMARY :
The economy of a nation can only be integrated when it is connected with the
technologies and mobile banking is for the same. In a way, an integrated financial
system of a country leads to a better economy. There are no more ways to integrate the
financial system except the mobile banking. Even after the 15 years of implementation
of mobile banking, still today the people do not have much confidence and believe over
it. So, this research paper deals with the factors that influences the usage of mobile
banking in Nepal.
This research used primary method for data collection and the questionnaire technique
to collect the data to meet the objectives. It studied about the relationship between
different independent factors like Risk, Convenience, Trust and Relative Advantages
towards the usage of mobile banking. The sample size of 180 has been taken for the
data collection while the data were collected from 120 respondents. Along with that,
various literature review were studied to go on depth with the cause of very low
confidence, and believe towards usage of mobile banking.
The data analysis found that there is very strong negative relationship among the risk
and the usage of mobile banking in Nepal. The relationship among the Trust and the
usage of mobile banking in Nepal has almost no relation. It shows that trust factor
doesn’t influences the usage of mobile banking. Convenience has a very strong positive
relationship with the usage of mobile banking. It shows that it is playing a vital role in
incrementing the users of mobile banking in Nepal. Finally the relative advantage and
usage of mobile banking in Nepal has also a very strong positive relationship. Out of
the four independent factors except Trust, all the other three has a very strong
relationship with the usage of mobile banking in Nepal.
Therefore, connecting the analysis part to the usage of mobile banking in Nepal various
useful results can be implicated. First, Bank should focus on risk factors so that people
can have more confidence over mobile banking. The bank should minimize al the
possible risks associated with the usage of mobile banking. Next, the banks should also
focus on the convenience and the relative advantages that the user can achieve by using
mobile banking.
