In this highly interactive daylong event, college leaders will examine the transfer process and explore how it can be improved. The conference aims to examine the transfer process and explore how it can be improved.
More than a third of all college students move from one college to another at least once in their academic careers, and more institutions -- public and private alike -- count on transfer students to fill their classes. With the pending recession and possibility that remote learning will continue into the fall, many experts predict that the largest chunk of transferring students -- those who enroll at community colleges with the goal of eventually attaining a four-year degree -- will only grow. Unfortunately, the process of transferring from one institution to another is, by almost all accounts, difficult.

On September 30th, we’ll bring together experts and higher ed leaders to discuss why transfer has been an issue for so many, for so long, and how all parties can be better served through effort and investment in the right strategies.

This day-long conference will address the following topics:
  • The past, present and future of transfer
  • Examples of successful transfer programs
  • How 2- year and 4- year institutions can work together to create better transfer systems
  • The impact of changes to NACAC recruiting standards on transfer
  • The use of guided pathways programs
  • The financial impact of transfer on higher ed institutions
  • Accreditation: a real issue or a political issue?
